Panama Turtle Defense Project 2018

Come and volunteer with us this summer!

Volunteer

Starts July 1

Aloha everyone!

We would like to introduce you to Sergio Vasquez.
He is leading our Sea Turtle Defense Project in Panama and he is eager to start.

Sergio will be patroling the beaches with a few volunteers starting July 1st. He’s also restoring an incubator to get ready for this upcoming Turtle Nesting Season.

At this time we want to share the list of immediate necessary equipment to make this project a reality.

This is a very important beach to patrol from a global perspective because every single type of sea turtle that exists on earth, besides the flat black which is exclusive to Australia, nests there!

At the moment we desperately need:

Two rolls of mesh 150.00
Eight 6 feet poles 50.00
One cell phone 200.00
Monthly phone card credit 50.00
Wages for 3 persons to build the incubator 100.00
Food + drinks for the incubator building team 50.00

Total $600.00

Currently our team is made out of a few locals who have decided they’ve had enough with the abandonment of their beach by its own community in regards to the poaching of the sea turtle eggs.

Battling coyotes, dogs and natural environmental loss of habitat are added to the struggle of our sea turtles in this remote area.

There are a few conscious citizens and we must help so please donate.
